Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of determining the fit of the conceptual model of sleep disturbance based on competition anxiety, internet addiction, perceived peer harassment, symptoms of scary dreams, attachment to parents and entrance exam anxiety among female students. This research was descriptive and correlational. The 11th and 12th grade female students of the second secondary level formed the statistical population of this research. The second secondary level formed the statistical population of this research. The sample was 182 students who were selected from among the students. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Pearson's correlation coefficient and path analysis) by AMOS-24 and SPSS-19 software. The results showed that addiction competition anxiety leads directly and indirectly through exam anxiety to the symptoms of nightmare, as well as through internet addiction to perceived peer abuse and from the path of perceived peer abuse to nightmare to the intensification of sleep disturbance. According to these results, it can be said that in order to improve sleep disturbance, competition anxiety is an important structure that, by reducing it, either directly or indirectly, reduced sleep disturbance.
