of children's poetry It is one of the tools of transferring culture to the next generation. A child needs poems that are at his level of understanding. Therefore, the number and type of vocabulary plays a fundamental role in this. Vocabulary and the extent of their use in poetry are different according to age groups. If an average of these classified and domain words are used in education, it is called basic educational vocabulary. Dealing with vocabulary is very important because the study process is based on decoding, reading and human understanding of printed signs. By knowing the relative frequency of the basic vocabulary, it is possible to design appropriate educational content to have the greatest efficiency for children. Since the poems in the elementary Persian book are also part of the educational content, the list of basic words in it should be analyzed. Therefore, the importance and necessity of research is felt. This research was done by content analysis method. In this way, all the words in the first to fifth Persian poems were extracted and then compared with Nematzadeh's book of basic Persian words, the basic words were identified. The obtained results indicate that as we approach from the first period to the second period of elementary school, the frequency of basic vocabulary is less than half. The highest vocabulary frequency is related to the naturalistic theme. Then the category of religion, ethics, upbringing and education. Nouns showed the highest frequency in the command form.
