Abstract

The increasing spread of new sciences and the presentation of these sciences to other scientific fields is an inevitable phenomenon. The science of optics and laser as one of the new and interdisciplinary sciences in recent decades has played a significant role in the development and facilitation of many processes. Dentistry, as one of the oldest disciplines, also uses laser potentials in various functional dimensions. Oral surgery to reduce the risk and minimize the invasion of the patient is one of the outcomes of laser use. However, the need to optimize the implementation processes of this technique is always considered. Therefore, the present study evaluates the potentials of using laser in maxillofacial surgery and evaluates the conditions and possible applications in this case.
